Genie Micro from Syrp is a new intelligent all-in-one remote control for DSLM and DSLM cameras which allows you to control these cameras via the Syrp Smartphone App. The Genie Micro is placed in the accessory shoe, wired to the camera via USB and then wirelessly connected to the app.
The app (iOS/Android) can then be used to wirelessly control ISO, aperture and shutter speed from a distance without touching the camera - for example to get shake-free bulb ramping or even so-called "Holy Grail" time lapse shots.

Likewise, video recording via Genie Micro can be stopped and started via a shutter link cable or individual images can be recorded for stop-motion projects. The Syrp Genie Micro can be accessed via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi from a distance of up to 10 meters and - when new firmware is released - can be updated to add new functions.

The Syrp Micro has the shape of a disc with a diameter of about 5 cm and has a 2.5mm shutter control port, Bluetooth 4.0, a USB-C port and Wifi 2.4GHz. One charge of the built-in rechargeable battery, which is charged via USB-C, is sufficient for about 7 hours of operation. The camera control function in the app is compatible with Syrps motion control models such as the Genie Mini II, Genie II Linear or Genie II Pan Tilt.
The following cameras are currently compatible with the Syrp Genie Micro: Canon EOS R5, Canon EOS R, Canon 5D Mk IV, Canon 6D Mk II, Canon 4000D, Canon 40D Video Start / Stop does not work on this camera, Canon 1300D, Canon M50, Nikon Z7, Nikon Z5, Nikon Z50, Nikon D850, Nikon D800, Nikon D750, Nikon D7500 and Nikon D780. According to Syrp, if a certain camera is not listed as 100% compatible, this does not mean that it does not work with the Genie Micro, but only that the interaction has not yet been 100% verified by Syrp. But Syrp is testing more cameras and will add them to compatibility list - next are cameras from Sony.
The Syrp Genie Micro is available immediately at a price of about 160 Euro - a USB-C to USB-A plug cable, a USB-C to USB-A plug cable and a microfiber cloth are included. Please note, however, that an additional shutter link cable is required for the standard release. The USB cable required for camera control should be included with the camera.
