Audio specialist Tascam has introduced the new TM-200SG compact shotgun microphone. It can be mounted on any camera with a hot shoe using the supplied bracket and can thus improve the sound of video recordings made with a DSLR or other camera, for example.
TM-200SG shotgun microphone features a supercardioid polar pattern for focused audio pickup, and its built-in low-cut filter suppresses ambient noise and minimizes wind and other ambient noise. The shotgun condenser microphone has a frequency range of 30 Hz to 20 kHz, a sensitivity of 40d (+/- 3dB), an output impedance of 1 kOhm (+/- 30%), and the ability to operate with +48 V phantom power via its XLR connector.
Tascam plans to ship the lightweight 53-gram TM-200SG before the end of the second quarter of 2021, priced at 165 euros, with three accessories: a hot shoe microphone mount with shock mount, a protective soft case cover, and a windscreen.
