Team Group T-CREATE CinemaPr P31 - External USB-C SSD with mounting holes

The Taiwanese storage provider Team Group has announced a new external SSD that could be exciting for professional video users.

The somewhat awkwardly named "T-CREATE CinemaPr P31 Portable External SSD" can be screwed onto a cage thanks to the corresponding holes. Now that external recording on USB media has also taken off in consumer cameras, the market is probably ripe for such an obvious idea.

The SSD housing offers 12 "mounting holes" with the common 1/4 inch thread, which many other professional video accessory manufacturers tacitly agreed on a long time ago.

Further technical specifications are still scarce, but at 110 grams, the SSD including housing is not expected to be a lightweight. Which also gives hope for a correspondingly robust exterior.

The T-Create CinemaPr P31 will initially be delivered with up to 4TB in the first quarter of 2024 at the earliest. A price recommendation is still pending, as are details on the USB interface and the expected data rates.

However, we assume that the manufacturer does not yet want to publish more detailed information. Which is why interested parties will probably have to be patient - and perhaps the competition will also be able to tackle this practical idea.
