Teradek now allows owners of its Cube 705 and 755 encoders to purchase an NDI license to transmit video over IP. NDI (Network Device Interface) is a free and widely used protocol standard developed by NewTek specifically for transmitting professional high-definition live video over networks with high quality and low latency.

Using NDI, Cube 705 and 755 encoder owners can feed their video feeds directly to a network, eliminating the need for long runs of HDMI or SDI cable. NDI also integrates seamlessly with vMix, TriCaster and other switches. Cube owners can still use SRT for remote feed transport to a TriCaster and NDI for local ingest.

The NDI license is valid for the NDI HX protocol, i.e. video is compressed via NDI|HX (H.264) with bit rates between 8 and 20 Mbit/s (1080i), transmitted either via WLAN or Gigabit Ethernet.
Owners of the Teradek Cube 705 and Cube 755 can purchase the NDI license for . The H.265 (HEVC) and H.264(AVC) encoders Teradek Cube 755 and Cube 705 (Ethernet only) cost around 3,000 euros, and 2,775 euros respectively.
