Teradek has introduced a special app (iOS) for professional live streaming using Teradek&s hardware encoders like the Cube or ViDiu. Airmix replaces the previous app "Live:Air Action" and offers functions for live streaming setups with one or more cameras to social media services like Facebook or video portals like YouTube.
Airmix enables live switching between the video streams (up to 10) of several cameras or already recorded videos per app - the maximum resolution is 1,440p60 (2,560 x 1,440). The app offers the possibility to integrate graphics and text into the transmissions, to display the live images of several cameras simultaneously via PiP effect or multiview or to create compositings via chromakey. Video can be streamed or recorded in parallel to multiple platforms. Live chats from Facebook or YouTube can be integrated into a live stream. For sports events AirMix offers functions like instant replay or slow motion of single scenes.

A streaming setup, which can be controlled via airmix, consists of one or more cameras whose output is streamed via HDMI or SDI from a Teradek encoder. The encoders must be in Airmix streaming mode and on the same network as the iOS device running Airmix in order to be accessed via the app.
Teradek offers Airmix as a subscription at a monthly price of around 30 dollars (around 360 dollars per year) - a significant price increase compared to the "Live:Air Action" App, which was now discontinued and could still be activated at a fixed price of around 150 dollars without time limit. In addition to the cost of the actual Teradek streaming hardware, there may also be the price of an Teradek Core cloud account, which is needed if, for example, you want to stream to several social networks simultaneously.
