Teradek has added a new model for HDR monitoring to its 2019-launched series of Bolt 4K video radios with the compact and lightweight Bolt 4K LT MAX. The Teradek Bolt 4K LT MAX&s performance specs are similar to those of the Bolt 4K MAX - so while it has the same range, its features and functions are trimmed a bit, resulting in a transmitter/receiver set that is about a third less expensive. For example, the Bolt 4K LT MAX only has 3G-SDI instead of 12G-SDI ports and can only transmit 4K at a maximum of 30 fps (instead of 60 fps).

For both Bolt 4K MAX models, the radio range in direct line-of-sight is 900 meters with the integrated antenna or 1.5 km in broadcast mode with the optional flat antenna array. Both models support near-delayless (< 0.001 s) radio transmission of uncompressed 4:2:2 10-bit 4K at 60 fps (MAX) or 30 fps (LT MAX) via HDMI or FullHD at up to 60fps via SDI. HDR workflows are supported using HDR-10, PQ and HLG standards - plus advanced camera parameter data, timecode and record triggers for industry-standard cameras from ARRI, RED, Sony, Canon and others are also wirelessly transmitted.

Both transmitter and receiver feature OLED displays through which settings and software functions such as spectrum analyzer, channel selection, 3D LUTs and more can be accessed. The Bolt 4K LT MAX transmitter offers two 3G SDI and HDMI 2.0 inputs, while the receiver offers two 3G SDI and one HDMI 2.0 output. Formats can also be cross-converted between the transmitter and receiver, so it can output HD signal at the transmitter as 4K at the receiver and vice versa.
The system can be remotely controlled via free (iOS/Android) app to, for example, wirelessly pair any TX and RX devices, manually specify specific 5GHz channels, apply individual RX LUT output settings, or monitor ambient signal interference with the analysis tools for error-free transmission.
In Broadcast Mode, a Bolt 4K LT MAX transmitter can address and simultaneously transmit content to any number of Bolt 4K receivers. In Fixed Frequency Mode, a specific 5GHz can be fixed for optimal performance. With this, Teradek&s lineup now consists of the following models, which are all compatible with each other: Bolt 4K ,Bolt 4K LT, Bolt 4K MAX as well as the new Bolt 4K LT MAX.
