Teradek announced at Cine Gear Expo 2022 the Serv Micro, a new wireless video and production streaming solution that complements the previous models in Teradek&s Serv line, the ![]() Teradek Serv Micro
Like these, the Serv Micro allows monitoring of a camera&s video output wirelessly via WLAN to multiple devices (such as iPads/iPhones). The camera signal (4:2:0 8-bit with a maximum of 1080p30) is streamed with a latency of 2 frames in AVC/H.264 with a bit rate of up to 15 Mbit/s to the apps of the crew members, who can then view the material live - this is possible both in the local network and via the Internet. In contrast to these, however, the Serv Micro only offers an HDMI input for the camera signals and no 3D-SDI input. ![]() Teradek Serv Micro compared to the Serv 4K and Serv Pro The Teradek Serv Micro can be streamed to up to 10 devices on a local network running Teradek&s Vuer app - iOS, Android, Windows and macOS are all supported. Unlimited devices can access live streaming and instant recording via the Teradek Core cloud streaming platform. In the event of an internet connection interruption, recordings are stored on an SD card and then uploaded when the connection is restored. The streams are compatible with macOS, iOS, Android and web browsers. Serv Micro, in addition to an HDMI input, is also equipped with an HDMI loop-through port as well as Ethernet and WiFi connectivity, an auxiliary audio input, a USB Type-A port for easy connection to mobile bonding options, and an integrated L-Series battery plate for mobile operation. ![]() Teradek Serv Micro Teradek has not yet announced the price or availability of the Serv Micro, but the price is likely to be well below that of the Serv Pro at just under ,200 due to the inferior features.
