The Teradek 4K HDR encoding solutions Serv 4K and Prism Flex will also support the Sony Ci Cloud in the future (in addition to Teradek Core and Frame.io). Recordings directly from the set can thus be uploaded to Sony servers in the form of proxies or as high-quality HDR OCF files, regardless of the camera used. There, they are also available to spatially separated team members for viewing, post-production, archiving, and the like. The folder structure in the cloud can be freely defined.
The configuration is said to be very simple and does not require any additional apps. The Teradek encoders connect to Sony's Ci with an individual 8-digit code. Serv 4K also offers local iPad client monitoring in the process, and has a Gold/V-Mount solution for setups on the camera. Prism Flex, in turn, offers live streaming and point-to-point decoding.
Sony Ci Media Cloud includes functionality for real-time collaboration, automated transcoding, rough editing, quality control and archiving capabilities in a SaaS offering. Subscription pricing is tiered by individual user, team and enterprise, and varies primarily based on the amount of storage required. A free trial account is also available.
Integration is to be added in the fall, an exact date is not mentioned.
