Tilta has designed its new Mirage matte box to be light and variable. It weighs only 179g without filters and can be attached directly to the front of the lens via clamp-on, regularly to a diameter of 95mm or via adapter also to e.g. 82mm or below. You can use 4x5.65 filters as well as round 95mm filters, the latter a special format made by Vazen especially for the Tilta system. The 95mm filter mount can also be mounted on lenses alone, without a matte box, for a particularly minimal setup.

The 95mm format also includes a variable ND filter that offers hard stops between ND 0.3 - ND 2.7. It can be controlled by hand via a wheel, but optionally also remotely via a small motor, helpful in remote situations such as crane or drone shots (range 100m). The small motor can also be used in the minimal setup, because it is screwed directly onto the filter mount. It is compatible with all of Tilta's radio (focus) controllers, not just the special Tilta Mirage controller. Both the motor and the controller are powered by 14500 batteries.

The Tlta Mirage mattebox is offered in several kits, pure for (just the mattebox plus filter mount and adapter rings), Kit B () also includes an adapter for a Nano motor (if you already have one, it can then also be used for the Vario-ND), the Vario-ND and a small 15mm LWS mount as an alternative for clipping to the optics. Kit C includes a wireless motor and controller instead of the Nano adapter, as well as power accessories, total price .
