A third cine zoom lens is introduced by Tokina with the 25-75mm T2.9. It is designed for Super35 sensors and a little bit more with its image circle coverage of up to 36mm diagonal. Thus, even larger sensors can be exposed in some crop modes, such as the Alexa LF in 4K UHD or (according to Tokina) RED Helium 8K, RED Dragon 6K, RED Monstro 6K.
The mechanical and optical characteristics are matched to the already available Tokina Cinema 50-135mm T2.9 MKII and 11- 20mm T2.9 zoom lenses with a parfocal design and low focus breathing. Focusing is manual. The aperture has nine blades.
The 25-75mm T2.9 is 174mm long (no weight is given), the front diameter is 95mm, the filter diameter 86mm. The 0.8 MOD sprockets are standard. Like the other two zoom lenses, this one will also be available with PL, EF, Sony E, MFT or Nikon F-Mount (interchangeable). It will cost 5.799 dollars, but will not be released until spring 2021.
