In its Vista Cinema series, Tokina brings a 40mm lens that ranks between the already available 35mm and 50mm lenses. As with all lenses in the Vista series, Tokina covers a large format image circle up to 46.7mm, for example for RED Monstro 8K VV, Alexa LF Mini 5.7K Open Gate or even an Alexa65 2:1 Open Gate. Resolutions up to 8K and beyond are to be supported. Thanks to a T1.5 initial aperture, the 40mm is as bright as its relatives. ![]() Tokina Vista Cinema Prime 40mm The optical design comprises 15 elements in 14 groups, including aspherical elements. The diaphragm consists of 9 lamellas. The minimum setting limit is 45cm, the focus breathing should be minimal. Aperture and focus rings are located at standardized positions. The front diameter is 114mm, filters in the size 112mm can be attached. The weight of about 2,25Kg varies slightly depending on the mount version.
The Vista lens series, which now includes eight focal lengths, is available for PL-, Canon EF-, MFT-, Sony E- and Arri LPL-Mount.
