Digital Anarchy responds to Adobe&s ;) Transcriptive Rough Cutter in Adobe Premiere Pro
The basis of the capabilities of the new Transcriptive Rough Cutter, which comes in the form of a  plugin for Premiere Pro and a web app, is Transcriptive&s automatic audio transcription of a video. Then the resulting text can be easily edited by crossing out (deleting) unwanted parts of the text - this can then be used to create a rough cut without the corresponding parts in the video. The whole thing works only with simple clips (or a sequence of videos - but not a complex timeline) and of course only if there is speech in the videos. A similar functionality (video editing via text editing) is offered by the transcription service Simon Says already since last December by means of its Tools Assemble via extension for FCP, macOS, Adobe and DaVinci Resolve as well as also the web services Builder NLE or Descript. Transcriptive for Premiere ProThe Transcriptive Rough Cutter panel is fully integrated with Premiere Pro. Editors can create AI transcripts (or import them from elsewhere), edit the text for subtitles, or assemble rough cuts based on the edits in their transcript. Included in the Premiere plugin is the PowerSearch metadata search box, which allows users to search hours of footage for content. PowerSearch returns results just like any other search engine, clicking on a search result opens the clip or sequence in question and jumps to exactly when something was said. Transcriptive Web App.The Transcriptive Web-App enables similar functionality as the Premiere Pro plugin to entire teams using a web interface. Videos can thus be uploaded, automatically transcribed and then collaboratively annotated, edited and the rough cut exported online. Transcripts can be exported as SRT, STL, VTT or SMPTE-TT (xml) files. Transcriptive PricingTranscriptive Rough Cutter for Premiere Pro costs a one-time - but does not include transcripts, which continue to cost 4 cents per minute when purchased in prepaid minute packages (choices include 62.5h for and 208h for ) or 8 cents/minute when billed by usage.
