Venusoptics has had the Laowa OOOM 25-100 t/2.9 Cine in its range since 2020; now two more OOOM zoom lenses have been added, the 14-60 T2.9 MFT with a 21.6mm image circle and the 20-85 T4 S35 Cine (image circle 31.5mm). The latter is equipped with a PL mount. However, as the manufacturer itself emphasizes, this protrudes relatively far, which could possibly lead to limited compatibility.

Laowa OOOM 20-85 T4 S35 Cine
Compared to the first zoom lens, which was originally announced as a “lightweight” but then appeared weighing around 2.5 kg, the new additions are lighter and more compact. They each weigh 1.35 kg and measure 80 mm in diameter with a length of 172 mm (14-60 T2.9 MFT) or 150 mm (20-85 T4 S35).
Like the 25-100 t/2.9, the new OOOMs are also parfocal and focus breathing should be minimal. The minimum focusing distance for both is 56cm. The focus travel is 284°, zooming through is 170°. Venusoptics does not provide more detailed information on the optical elements used, but the MFT lens has 22 elements in 18 groups, while the S35 has 25 elements in 19 groups.
The Laowa OOOM 14-60 T2.9 MFT and the 20-85 T4 S35 Cine appear to be available immediately for 1,999 dollars each.
