Some small but certainly welcome improvements are brought by the latest camera firmware for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K. According to the manufacturer, both camera types should start faster (without exact timing) and mounting of media with a large amount of clips already stored on them should be faster. The USB Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) is said to have improved the transfer.
The Pocket CC 4K uses the 4K 2.40:1 mode to record slightly more pixels vertically (1720 instead of 1712). The 6K camera is said to have a malfunction when switching on the optical image stabilisation (EF). For other cameras Blackmagic Camera Setup 6.8 does not bring any news.
The Blackmagic RAW 1.6.1 update also updates the Blackmagic RAW plugins for Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro with performance and stability improvements.
