DJI&s new Mini 3 Pro drone will not be delivered for about a month, but DJI has already set the course so that all functions will be on board at launch. So unlike the Mavic 3, future pilots won&t have to wait for firmware updates that retrofit promised features. The latest version 1.6.1 of the DJI Fly app, along with the Mini 3 Pro&s first firmware update (v01.00.0100), already brings full support for the DJI Mini 3 Pro and all of its features, such as automatic obstacle detection via Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS) 4.0, new recording formats, and intelligent shooting modes via QuickShots and FocusTrack.

Image quality and flight stability have also been improved. Who buys the Mini 3 Pro in the standard bundle for 829 euros, so together with the RC-N1 remote control and already owns a DJI Mini 2, Mavic Air 2, DJI Air 2S and DJI Mavic 3 benefits from the fact that the new remote control can also be used for control of these models.

How the DJI Mini 3 Pro update works
. To install the new 1.6.1 version of the DJI Fly app, the app must be updated or downloaded from DJI&s website. Then, when the drone is turned on and connected to the app, you will be prompted to activate the Mini 3 Pro drone and unlock all features. For all components to work together, the latest firmware version should be installed everywhere, i.e. the DJI RC-N1 remote control should use firmware version 04.14.0117 and the new DJI RC remote control should use firmware version 01.00.0100.

DJI Mini 3 Pro
For the first time, the DJI Mini 3 Pro has the ability to record video at 4K at 60fps (and in D-Cinelike color profile), as well as 120p slow motion in HD, and rotate the gimbal 90° for high-angle shots. In addition, the sensor has been enlarged, flight time has been significantly increased to 34 minutes (even up to 47 minutes with a special battery), and obstacle detection has been expanded to 3 directions. Like the previous model, the Mini 3 Pro is subject to the favorable C0 classification, as it weighs less than 250 grams. It can thus be flown in Germany (and many other countries as well) without a license requirement.

On board for the first time with the new Mini 3 Pro are the intelligent QuickShot flight/recording modes such as Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix, Boomerang and Asteroid. There&s also the MasterShots feature, which is designed to help beginners produce good images via automated flight, as well as panoramic and hyperlapse shooting and FocusTrack mode, which includes ActiveTrack 4.0, Spotlight 2.0 and Point of Interest 3.0. The Advanced Assistance System (APAS 4.0) detects objects in the drone&s flight path in real time, thanks to two new dual obstacle avoidance sensors, allowing it to automatically avoid them.
