The new version of HitFilm Pro (6) introduced today brings a host of new features and workflow enhancements. The VFX software, which can also be used for video editing and 3D animations, is supposed to be more powerful overall and some workflows should be more efficient. The animation tools can now be accessed directly from the Editing-Tmeline or manipulate the keyframes from there. For more complex composites, pre-rendering is now available to make preview playback smoother and speed up export.
Mask editing has been improved and is expected to render much faster, while a new Puppet tool helps to quickly set raster and vector graphics in motion (i. e. to animate -- including pin and mesh functions). New geometry effects (Extrude, Bevel & Rotate) can be applied to text layers, such as title animations. Advanced Behaviour Effects are supposed to give users more precise settings for their animations. The 360° functions have also been extended, including new 360° VFX features and filters. Incidentally, support for ProRes and CineForm MOV seems to have been added on the PC.
Also updated is the plugin package Ignite Pro (included in the HitFilm Studio version), which includes all new 360° capabilities, the Puppet Tool and new text animation features. It can be used with a variety of cutting programs.
HitFilm Pro 6 is available now and costs 331.14 Euro, a little less than the previous version (in which as far as we know the Ignite package was included).
