TTartisan introduces two more manual cine lenses. Joining the one released in early summer, the
35mm T2.1, are a 50mm and an 85mm prime lens. They also offer a respectable aperture of T2.1 and feature Dual Bokeh as a special characteristic.
A slider allows adjustment of the shape of the generated bokeh highlights, with "Soft" or "Bubble" available to choose from. However, selecting the bokeh characteristic also changes focusing parameters – for instance, the 50mm has a minimum focusing distance of 65cm in Soft mode, but 45cm in Bubble mode. The focus rotation angle is 320° for Soft and shortens to 163° (Bubble). For the 85mm, the difference is less pronounced (minimum focusing distance: 60cm or 67cm, focus throw 299° or 258°).
The cine lens trio is designed for full-frame and is available for five mounts: E / Z / RF / L / X (S35). The two lens rings are equipped with 0.8 Mod gears for use with follow-focus systems. While the physical lengths of the optics are not uniform, the diameter (85mm) and, it appears, the position of the rings are consistent. The filter thread measures 82mm.
The optical design comprises 7 elements in 6 groups for the 50mm, and 8 elements in 7 groups for the 85mm. The weight of the metal-constructed lenses ranges between 700 and 820 grams depending on the focal length and mount.
There is no concrete information yet on when the lenses will be shipped. They each cost 429 Euros.
