Magix has big plans for the Vegas Pro editing software acquired from Sony; their announcement at NAB underscores the direction they´re taking -- the program is to be expanded into a post-production suite, Vegas POST, suitable for professional productions of all sizes and requirements. From independent video editors to large post-production studios and even broadcasters, they are cited as potential users.
As partner FXHome was got in the boat, the manufacturer of hit film. An effect and compositing tool especially designed for Vegas POST is to be developed to enrich the video editing capabilities of Vegas Pro. A specially developed version of FXhome's non-destructive RAW image compositor will also be included, allowing users to work with still images and graphical content and integrate them directly into projects. All three tools are seamlessly integrated into an end-to-end workflow.
However, it will take some time until the new suite is available -- the third quarter of 2019 is supposed to be the time. There are no details on pricing yet.
