Viltrox has a new, quite bright 7" camera monitor in its range: the DC-A1. This is said to achieve a peak brightness of 2800 nits, making it suitable for outdoor shooting in bright environments. Its FullHD IPS panel (1920×1080) offers a 170° viewing angle, but only an 8-bit color depth. It works in the sRGB/Rec.709 color space. Image signals up to 4K 60 Hz are supported including loop-out. ![]() Viltrox DC-A1 In addition to touch operation, there are four function keys and a rotary control. Various monitoring functions are available, including histogram, false color, parade/waveform, peaking, vectorscope, anamorphic de-squeeze and LUT tables - up to 20 3D LUTs can be imported via USB.
![]() The field monitor weighs 348 g and has a (according to the manufacturer quiet) fan on board. In addition to HDMI 2.0 In and Out, there is also a 3.5 mm mini jack for headphones.
