At Cinegear in LA, Viltrox has now announced the market launch of its new LUNA Cine zoom lenses, the development of which has been known since last year. The two lenses offer a 10x zoom factor with focal lengths of 30–300mm T4.0 and 42–420mm T5.6 respectively. The latter illuminates a particularly large image circle of 60mm and comes with an LPL mount, while the 30-300mm with PL mount supports image circles of 46.5mm.

As the name suggests, the two lenses seem astronomical in several respects - they weigh around 15 kilograms with a length of a good half meter. They are said to cost ,000 and ,000 respectively; it seems they are made to order.

In addition, Viltrox is expanding its EPIC anamorphic series. The full-frame lenses (image circle φ46mm) offer a 1.33x squeeze factor and have so far been available in five focal lengths with T2 (25/35/50/75/100mm) - now two more lenses are being added, and sets with different flare characteristics are also being offered.

The new EPIC 65mm T2.8 Macro 1.33X PL enables anamorphic close-ups with a magnification ratio of 1:4 (minimum focusing distance 0.4m), while the EPIC 135mm T2.4 1.33X PL complements the series at the telephoto end. They cost ,299 each.

Also new are the alternative EPIC series Maestro and Memento. While the previously available Viltrox EPIC anamorphics produce blue flares, these are supposed to be silver in the Memento series and largely suppressed in Maestro - for a clean look, for example for VFX.
