Western Digital has introduced a new encrypted mobile SSD from its G-Technology brand, which uses the newly developed ArmorLock encryption technology for the first time. This was developed to guarantee users the security of their data. The G-Technology ArmorLock SSD is protected by a very rugged case with IP67 dust/water resistance, up to 3 meters drop protection and 450kg pressure resistance and uses 256-bit AES-XTS hardware encryption to secure data. It has a storage capacity of 2 TB and transfers the data via USB 3.2 Gen 2 over the USB-C interface at rates of up to 1,000 MB/s.
