Wise CFexpress Type B PRO memory cards with minimum write speed of 1,300 - 1,400 MB/s

Taiwan-based memory card specialist Wise Advanced has expanded its line of CFexpress Type B memory cards to include a PRO variant with continuous minimum write speeds of 1,300 MB/s (160GB, 320GB models) and 1,400 MB/s (640GB model).

The new CFexpress Type B memory cards are available in 160GB, 320GB and 640GB capacities and, with their high minimum write speeds across the board, are aimed at professional filmmakers who want the highest possible security for their projects. The maximum read speed in each case is 1,700 MB/s, while the maximum write speed is 1,550 MB/s.

With a new heat control software algorithm and lower risk of corrupt data, CFexpress Type B PRO memory media results in higher stability and speed for critical projects. In addition, the high read speed enables filmmakers to transfer their data extremely fast when using a reader with USB3.2 Gen2 or Thunderbolt3 interface.

The minimum write speed of around 1,400 MB/s may sound like overkill for the current highest video camera requirements, which are 325 MB/s for 8K RAW 29.97p (12-bit), but this means that frame drop or data loss is nearly impossible with today&s cameras, as the write speed is more than enough for current codecs. The Wise CFexpress Type B PRO memory cards can be used with current cameras such as the Canon EOS C300 Mark III, EOS-1D X, R5, Nikon D5/D6/D500, Z 6/7, Z 6II and Z 7II or the Panasonic S1/S1R for recording with all supported formats (such as 5.5K RAW 60P at 325 MB/s with the Canon EOS 1D X).
