And once again, we've come across a significant price reduction that might be of interest to some readers. At some retailers, the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K with EF-mount has currently dropped below the 2,000 Euro mark – notably, including VAT. This is likely the lowest price since its launch approximately one year ago.
It is unclear if there is a specific reason for this price drop. The price reduction does not appear to originate from Blackmagic itself, as the camera is still listed on their German website with a recommended retail price (RRP) of 3,089 Euros. The L-mount version can also be found significantly cheaper at some retailers, though not yet below the 2,000 Euro threshold.

The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K EF is currently available for under 2,000 Euros including VAT.
In our tests (www.slashcam.de/artikel/Test/Blackmagic-PYXIS-6K---Sensortest---Rolling-Shutter-und-Dynamik.html#RollingShutterBlackma), the PYXIS 6K proved to be a solid workhorse with many cine features. While the rolling shutter is only mediocre, the RAW workflow, including highlight recovery, is top-notch. Additionally, it offers absolutely professional connectivity options and very affordable recording media – partly thanks to an external USB recording capability.
Key features of the camera summarized:
* Full-frame sensor with 6048 x 4032 pixels (Dual Native ISO) with 13 stops of Blackmagic RAW recording
* 36 fps at 6048 x 4032 pixels in 3:2 with Open Gate (full sensor area)
* 60 fps at 6048 x 2520 in 2.4:1
* 60 fps at 4096 x 2160 in 4K DCI
* 4-inch HDR touchscreen with 1500 nits
* Two CFexpress card recorders and one USB-C expansion port
* 12G-SDI output
* Mini-XLR with 48V phantom power
* 3.5mm jack for microphones
* Timecode input
* Reference input
* Headphone jack
Oh, and a license for the Studio version of Resolve is also included in the package. In our opinion, these offers are not B-stock or used items, but brand-new cameras with a full manufacturer's warranty.
