Following the motto "good things take time," Wooden Camera is now releasing rigging accessories specifically for the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K/17K cameras. During the construction of the top plate and the ARCA base plate, special attention was paid to not obstruct the airflow for camera cooling; cutouts are located according to the ventilation slots on the camera. Likewise, all inputs and outputs remain accessible. The Ursa-typical slope at the rear end of the camera is compensated for by a wedge-shaped adapter part, so that the sometimes bulky power solutions can be mounted on a straight axis. The rig components feature a variety of 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting threads.
Wooden Camera Accessories for Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K/17K Cameras
The accessories are offered in two kits (as well as individual components). The Elite Accessory System (from 1,199) includes a Riser Plate, an ARCA Base Plate for quick changes between shoulder, studio, and Steadicam use, the top plate as well as a small, matching extension block, a Front Dual Rod Clamp (for 15mm), and an Ultra Handle (3/8″-16) Standard Kit. The Core System (from ) only includes the Riser Plate, ARCA Base Plate, and the top plate; the latter is said to also be compatible with the handle offered by Blackmagic itself.
The D-Box System (from 1,099) includes a 26V Gold Mount Plus D-Box and an adapter wedge. Available power options are DC-In (allows battery changes during operation / hot-swapping), 2 x D-Tap Ports, 2 x 2-pin 12V - 5.8A, 2 x 3-pin 24V - 3.8A. A Gold Mount Plus Battery Plate System is also available.
