In China, Vivo has unveiled its new X300 Pro smartphone, which, thanks to its collaboration with Zeiss, once again places a strong emphasis on its camera capabilities. Vivo's Pro models typically launch on the international market at a later date, unlike the Ultra versions. The new X300 Pro is hardly inferior to the X200 Ultra, which was launched in spring, in terms of its camera setup. On the contrary, in some cases, an even newer image sensor is integrated.

Vivo X300 Pro (with Photography Kit)
Specifically, the 50 MP main camera of the Vivo X300 Pro is equipped with the Sony LYT-828 CMOS, a 1/1.28-inch type sensor that has only recently become available. Thanks to improved signal electronics (Ultra-high conversion gain / UHCG) and a combination of multiple HDR techniques, the sensor is said to offer significantly better dynamic range than its predecessor. The Zeiss camera module also features an f/1.57 aperture and gyro-based image stabilization.
While the ultrawide camera, with its 1/2.76″ sensor size, is less remarkable, the telephoto module is quite the opposite: It features the 1/1.4″ Samsung ISOCELL HPB sensor, paired with a 3.5x periscope zoom lens with an f/2.67 aperture. The 85mm-equivalent focal length can be further extended by a factor of 2.35 with an external Zeiss teleconverter. This teleconverter is part of the Photography Kit, which also includes a matching smartphone case with an integrated grip. The case features a thread to which the converter can be attached. While this setup no longer fits in a pocket, the focal length then corresponds to approximately 200mm full-frame equivalent.

The Vivo X300 Pro supports 8K at 30fps, 4K at up to 120fps, and 10-bit Log recording.
While the camera setup is certainly impressive, Vivo has opted against a Snapdragon processor, instead integrating the rival MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Chipset. It runs on OriginOS 6, which is based on Android 16. It features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display.
When and at what price the Vivo X300 Pro will be available locally remains to be seen.
