Zoom has announced its first portable, battery-powered digital mixer and podcast recorder for USB microphones with the PodTrak P2 Podcast Recorder. The P2 allows two USB microphones to be connected and podcasts to be recorded on the go, while the recording can be monitored via two headphones. It is possible to publish both a stereo mix directly and to record individual tracks for later editing. ;) Zoom PodTrak P2
A special feature is the integrated AI noise reduction, which learns and reduces background noise to improve the clarity of voices. Sound processing includes tone shaping, de-essing and a compressor, enabling broadcast-quality recording. With the mix-minus function, guests can be integrated into the conversation by connecting a smartphone to the rear USB port. Other features include the ability to record smartphone videos with professional sound quality, a MUTE function to mute the microphone, and separate controls with clear level displays for easy mixing. The P2 can be connected to PC, Mac, iOS or Android devices via USB-C and used as a USB audio interface for two USB microphones.
