Zoom has introduced a new audio recorder especially for podcasts. The PodTrak P4 Podcasting Recorder offers four XLR mic inputs, each with gain controls and mute buttons, along with newly designed mic preamps with up to 70dB gain. Four 3.5 mm mini-jack headphone outputs with individual volume controls also allow for larger conversations - another participant who is not on site can also be connected via smartphone - either by TRRS cable or wirelessly via the new, optional BTA-2 Bluetooth adapter. for recorded calls, the P4 features a mix-minus function for automatic feedback suppression.

4 sound pads can be used to record jingles, sound effects or music, which can also be recorded on 2 of the 8 available tracks on SD card. Each input can be recorded on a separate track in the form of a 16 bit/44.1 kHz audio file in WAV format on an SD, SDHC and SDXC card with up to 512 GB capacity.
The PodTrak Podcasting Recorder can also be used as an audio interface with two inputs/outputs, so that you can alternatively record directly with your PC, Mac or Android/iOS device (via USB-C or the latter via Lightning cable) or stream your podcast directly.

The Zoom P4 can be powered by two AA batteries for about 4 hours of mobile use or alternatively by a USB power supply or USB battery with a larger capacity for longer sessions.
The Zoom PodTrak Podcasting Recorder P4 is expected to be launched in September at a price of around 254 euros.

The ZDM-1 Podcast Mic Pack is specially designed to get you started in podcasting and consists of a ZDM-1 dynamic large diaphragm microphone, the closed ZHP-1 headphones, the ZDM-1 windscreen, an adjustable table stand and a 3 meter microphone cable.

The Mic Pack contains licenses for free download of the Steinberg WaveLab Cast Editor software for podcasting and editing recordings.
