Hi. I know nothing of computers and s.trying to get started setting up avid free dv on my Mac OSX version 10.4.10 with 2 GB of memory.
I can not get my stuff Digitized and start editing, although I think I'm following the AVID tutorial.
At first, the Digitized clips I had frozen the video with audio running, so I deleted those and started over. Now I get a pop up that reads: "no desk top video resource."
How do I get help to walk me through it. Is there a tutorial for computer idiots or a forum for beginners TOTAL or can someone help me?
Maybe I do not have the right basic set up?
Do I maybe need to put my material on a separate hard drive "- how does that work? What kind of disk is necessary?

are analog material, such as VHS, Video8, etc.? - If yes, which device converts the analog AV signals into digital computer data? At this point you can make many mistakes.
