Decide on what editing software? Sony Vegas Pro 9 or Edius 5?
Frage von jamakasi: November 2010
Dear Vegas users.
Despite up to now 1.5 days of research I can still not decide between the two programs. Maybe one or two current Vegas users the same consideration or was in the same "dilemma" had.
I am fascinated by one hand, the "Cinema-effects" of sony vegas like the vignette effect. Are these really already in the program itself or only possible with the addition of Giant Red programs, such as the Magic Bullet effect palette.
On the other hand, I do not know if I in AVCHD editing with Sony Vegas, in contrast to Edius the same "performance" (I hate that word) on my Athlon X2 (2 x 3 Ghz) I like with the intermediate format in Edius. I've downloaded the trial version of Edius Neo 2 Booster excited and was of the processing speed.
Processed as Sony Vegas Pro AVCHD files smoothly? Even with an intermediate format? Or only with the help of a fast multi-core processor?
On the general asked: Why did you not, for example specifically for Vegas and opted for Edius?
About one or the other helping assessment, I would be very grateful.
Many thanks and greetings Manu

The most valuable assessment is their own. Tested both versions, clarifying questions and decide for your own feelings.
"I am the one hand, fascinated by the" Cinema-effects "of sony vegas like the vignette effect. Are they really been in the program itself possible"
Since you had to describe more precisely what effects you mean. A vignette in Vegas you can create naturally synonymous with no additional plugins, but it will be possible in any video software.
Can synonymous times

Edius 5 is AVCHD without booster, not to compare the words in AVCHD output.
I have another version of Vegas 8. For a project I switched on Edius Neo Booster. I that does not have to be universal, had massive problems with AVCHD with Vegas cut. If your calculator does not I want to be the editor, we say that sometimes the other.
Vegas is usually great, especially in terms of sound. An egg-laying Wollmichsau.
Edius Booster is just very stable and offers a very good preview performance. Here the sound department is still just a joke.
The decision of a vignette effect to make I think that depends on quickly regretted.

The AVCHD playback performance of Vegas Pro, however, was improved in version 9 and again felt in version 10. In Vegas Pro 10 can even DSLR video (1920x1080p30) with H.264 in QuickTime containers are handled smoothly with the best preview quality on my notebook with 2x2, 8 GHz. As has been in Comparison to Version 8, some did. I would be in a 2x3 who fear 0 GHz desktop PC with AVCHD is not the same in advance. I would venture, however, reversed synonymous not a prediction, as it runs on other systems. Therefore: test itself.

Anyone who registers its version 5 at GM can then download the update to 5.5 free of charge. And then the booster technology is included.
