That does not sound good because the error is typical for a dejustierte track. It remains only the question of whether the recording or playback is concerned.
Try recording your times with another Video8 or Hi8 camcorder or recorder play. If it works, then something is not with the TRV480.
If, however, synonymous only leads to image disturbances, then you urgently need the camcorder of your friend, with which the recordings were made.
