Infoseite // graphics cards for DV editing with overlay function?

Frage von geid0r:

Hello together,

days since I'm on the lookout for a suitable graphics card for my new PC.
Following, I will purchase:

Dell OptiPlex
2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad
4 GB RAM

I will Adobe Production Premium CS3 use.

Now I am still synonymous searching for a suitable graphics card. As I've already read, it is not so much on the 3D performance. I want a graphics card (up to 150 euros) which I with an external TV screen (for color correction) can control. And while I would just like to preview or result screen (canvas) as a full show on the screen.

In the eye, I have a MSI GeForce 8600 GTS with 256 MB VRAM, 2 x DVI and S-Video out. Now I do not know whether this supports my project and the overlay function beherscht.

What kind of graphics cards I have mentioned in the price range you can recommend me?

Thank you for your efforts!

Greeting
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

You will need a dedicated mW average card. An ordinary graphics card gives the entire screen content via AV-out from.
Incidentally, the editing software usually either the preview via firewire from synonymous. So if you are on a DV -> AV-Converter available (eg, synonymous with a suitable camcorder DVin) you can control your monitor s.diesen are synonymous.

with the Firewire solution ALWAYS only graphics cards - solutions is preferable. The optimum is of course a correct output of card such as Black Magic or Matrox

That is wrong. I've been using an old Nvidia FX5200 with TV-output which can be configured so that the connected TV monitor only the overlay window of Adobe Premiere 6.0 or other programs shows. The latter include the Media Player (Classic) or PowerDVD. The trick is, first edition both systems (PC monitor and TV) via "geclonter" presentation to run on both the normal computer desktop to show. Then you put in the graphics cards settings under Video - (overlay)-Vollbild the secondary monitor to choose.

Why should it not help? I see the preview image, which I usually on the computer monitor in a window of the program can see, in a presentation by the Television. There are very significant color differences from the PC monitor visible. Also, the image effect of securities covered by the overscan area is obviously very different than when you're in the PC preview the whole picture with only the marking framework. The presentation at the Television corresponds then to what I afterwards synonymous get back when I turn the film on DV tape off.

The points are already clear to me. That I with a normal television rather than a true reference monitor, and also in the video output on the graphics card does not get the reference colors is clearly synonymous. That was the main post so not synonymous. I had just latched because s.der origin poster for a graphics card with overlay option on a connected television had asked and b) "ph" had written, graphics cards that only the entire desktop image on the television show would not do what is correct.
If your the original poster so instead of a simple solution graphics cards and TV-output (with perhaps not absolutely correct, but surveys of the same color as in a pure PC-monitor solution) a solution by DV converter would recommend, then of course Ok synonymous.

In this case, we seem to talk past each other. Can ever happen, if not entirely clear what exactly should be done and how far the information is.

What I almost always expect questions:
