Have I bought the fat Book of Gallileo with the learning DVD 7.0. Now I'm s.durchackern the examples! But when trying to import a Quicktime file I always get the error message that this is not a valid format: - /
Is there a ne idea how am I any farther??
Or do I have to install Quicktime Player First nen ????????

No, I do not know.
Do you have the Quicktime Player of the CD taken from the book or one (from the internet version?)?
AE still shows an error message or the state, which plugin is now loaded at startup? With the error message you can look better and can turn off one last critical plugin.

BTW, the term "Quicktime Player" wrong, because QuickTime is a basic API that handles multimedia files of any kind.
What version of After Effects are you?
In other nem cutting machine, we have a calculator on the problems After Effects 7 harmomiert with Quicktime 7.1.

The player had to say QTPlayer. Which is free and brings the corresponding decoders with QT to be able to view open files /.

I see only three possibilities
1 / Uninstall QT and with AE alone do next. This is unsatisfactory, because you then can not go through the tutorials.
2 / Uninstall QT then AE. Then install the AE version of the CD with the QT version of the CD. The first order of QT AE thereafter and if it is explained in the book then just as there specified.
3 / Uninstall QT then AE. Then install the AE version of the CD with the latest QT version 7.1.3 of http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html I would take this version without iTunes.
