This is really no preference - in other words, the software of your trust.
What you can say, but clearly, on laptops you will not "real" work cutting it.
Rather cautious and coarse cutting / Stückeln perhaps, everything else is then more the responsibility of the PC.
EFX gimmicks are what laptops with heavy falls under.
A video and open (Zerr-) was able to cut even my first lap Pentium2 300MHz with 128 MB SD RAM of about 10 years ago ;-) (then it was stop some time ;-)
Conclusion take the program with which you work and what you can on the main PC did. (You can afford)

I have my PC after a long time by replacing a laptop and so do everything s.Arbeiten done - of the Materialorga, about editing, compositing, color correction, etc. And with DV, HDV, XDCAM, XDCAM HD, AVCHD. And it runs around.
Even if the kids in the desktop performance is always lagging behind somewhat, the available power is now so high that even on laptops, in fact, can be fully worked. It is only then, unfortunately, more expensive than comparable PCs and it's often some external components are not around.
I know, has little problem with the original to do, since the (sub-) notebooks already exists and it is in performance, in fact, not the yellow of the egg. But there is a sweeping statement as described above in no way meet. Ten years ago, would have applied, now no more.

Lappi was my runs with a 32bitter but vista .. could still go to hire.
I have already considered synonymous because of photo-classified information, nor a fast, big Lappi zuzulegen. they are synonymous so much cheaper than the class I subnotebooks.
