Hi,
the topic was already discussed, but very briefly and pregnant my question:
I have an extensive movie cut, the duration of about 2 hours and as a DV-AVI Pal with 48kHz PCM audio has been mastered. The MPEG2 encoding has yet to be made. The aim now for about 30 people with high bitrate on DVD. In addition, there is room for approximately 1 GB of data is available.
I think of "Double-layer DVD [plus] R" of the affordable price class. Are all stand-alone DVD player, easy to read? Purchase DVD9 is yes, as far as I know DVD [minus] R DL.
I may be bad on many different players for free.
Please give me advice! Thank you.

Cons is the common format, which (at least in theory) any DVD player must support. But for DL blanks compatibility goes back into the knee. The same goes for cheap blanks, no preference whether or not DL.
Purchase DVD9 is yes, as far as I know DVD [minus] R DL. Purchase DVDs are pressed, not burned. Ergo, there is no DVD-R, no preference whether single or double layer. ;-)

but now I am again facing a new problem: What else? If DL does not generally, then the MPEG quality only 4.5 GB on normal blanks are very low, right? And for data would be synonymous not a bit more left. What you advise me?

There lots of space kanst you save if you instead PCM AC3 sound, or other compressed format take.

I'm going to get those times Anschauen Programs. This is probably MPEG Audio Layer-2, the encoder can easily be synonymous any internal encoding, because the original already is 48kHz stereo and no unnecessary sampling rates need to be changed.

From Tonkompression I was expected to default, especially if such a term. If you still synonymous for 1 GB of data should remain free, I would create 2 DVDs, as of Quadruplex proposed.
