my OS is xp sp2
and each time the following symptoms to occur: if I "only dv" setting and chose the cam connected to sound, like all other appliances synonymous, two short successive sounds: dark then bright if you removed the device will sound the other sequence light-dark.
if I "HDV / DV" one telle sounded two short dark tones and the cam will not work agezeigt.

capturing, I have tried with the following programs: 07/08 plus deluxe video, movie maker and HDV split. always the same: kene possible connection to the cam.

did a lot on the internet looking for solutions and tried or reviewed the following:

Hello,

I have the same problem. In DV mode, I can easily capture in HDV mode, only the usual sounds when connecting dingdong, Premiere recognizes the device but does not, nor Sony's DVgate capture software.

SonyVaio I have a notebook with Windows XP (with all service packs and updates, you can download from Microsoft).

Do you advice?

Robert

If you use the camcorder in the HDV mode switching test, would you like a new Windows Hardware Report. The manual once you have a JVC DVHS recorder setup. How it's done, you will see (unfortunately only in Japanese, the pictures are crucial, but understandable)

Antwort von Gast 0815:

When an HDV camera in DV mode is detected when HDV device does not, however, it is often because the necessary Windows driver files not found. Geh times as follows:

1) Computer-> Tools-> Folder Options-> View Hidden Files and Folders> select show all files.
2) Check whether Windows/System32/Driver following files exist: mstape.sys, mstape.inf, avcstrm.sys.
If not, get you from another Windows installation (2nd PC, friend, etc.) and copy it into this directory.
3.) via firewire camera in HDV mode connect new hardware should be detected. If not, open the Device Manager and select Action-> Scan for hardware changes.
4) Choose the following Hardewareinstallationsassistent "no, not this time"
then a list of software ...", then "these sources also .." and contributes to "C: WINDOWSSYSTEM32DRIVERS" a (If any other Windows drive, accordingly) and then let the driver know. Does not the last step, as in the previous window, choose "no, but ..", then Audio, Video and Gamecontoller-> compatible hardware with hooks, AVC-band device and select install.

Hello,

my problem is synonymous that you are not using A1 in HDV mode on pc
wants to be recognized (XP os on firewire 400)

the fun is only the last two posts to me their solutions,
which actually sounds very Sinning synonymous change nothing s.der sache.
AV / C tape device is installed and ready to operate and that with the JVC-DVHS recorders I've tried synonymous (but only goes EXT CONT. S.Hauptrad position of the Cam), however, comes s.abschluss of drivers to install the message: device can do not start (code 10)

what to do, what now?

gruß

my problem is the same (HV20 is only in DV mode detected in HDV doing nothing, win xp sp2). the proposed solution with the newer operating system is probably not as serious (no, I do not switch to vista). inziwischen someone has a solution?

Antwort von ich33:

if someone is still interested in this: my main problem seems to be an mpeg2 decoder is not installed in win xp to have been. have installed Cyberlink PowerDVD and so now there are no problems when capturing more. did not yet capture all the species tested, but, seems to be working.
