Infoseite // Beginner question about recording with an external Micro (; Mono, Stereo ...)

Frage von hubse:

Hi,

I've never cared much about the sound during the shoot and then have an easy time stereo-micro-camcorder purchased so that the noise gone, the Micro was not particularly good. Since I only have the sound of television, often times playing on my stereo, I can not help listening between stereo and mono SO make big differences because the speakers are too close together.

Today I was at Thomann at times to have their own external Micro to look for interviews. According to the seller, all interview-mic mono microphones, or wants to record a decent interview, then you need a decent microphone mono because stereo microphones include too much noise - sounds logical.
And at a concert is not one 1 stereo or surround-Micro-Micro front of his orchestra, but placed several mono mics - synonymous logical.

How, then take the pros on interviews? For the sound heard on TV not to mono - although they take up with only ONE mono-Micro (; the interviewees are not even 2 mics held under his nose)!

In summary: If I want more take up Language and less the jungle noises around me, then I need a mono-Micro with kidney or super cardioid, I figured it would now only be embarrassed if I NEN buying HD camcorder, the (; hopefully) great movie on BlueRay burning, the great picture show on the big screen - and then you hear about the most amazing plant is only a mono sound!

How do I get it back that sounds like the sound after "broad" that a friend whose boxes apart, next, NEN has decent sound, I push the cutting mono just to the left and the right speaker? Do I still Quicksolder Micro for a stereo?

How do you ensure a decent sound?

Greetings and thank you in advance,

Martin

Just to answer your main question quickly: You can duplicate the mono track in the editing program to an output on the left and right to get Page. Some cameras (XHA1) can already lead to the recording but the mono signal to both channels. A stereo effect is so synonymous with interviews would not be possible and necessary, provided that the person does not move.

There are already synonymous stereo-directional microphones, such as the

Good quality voice in a noisy environment but in my opinion only with a mobile Sennheiser RF Set Lavalier and achieve. This takes default on the left channel. I then duplicate as the left-channel soundtrack with the reversed again in the NLE and then control depending on where the person speaking just in the Picture text is, something more to the left, sometimes more in the right channel from the volume. Makes a good stereo effect, especially if the person moves.
Occasionally I still use a ball-Micro directly at the camera for Atmo on the right channel.
If you can get a little solder is synonymous to make a split cable, no art, which divides the house of the stereo signal from camera to both channels. Then comes the emphasis of the left or right over the pan and balance function in the mixer even easier to himself.

Hi,

thanks for the quick response.
Following sentence I have not quite understood: "... left with the reversed soundtrack channels again in NLE and. .." - What is a NLE and how do you mean with reversed "? Must be the soundtrack not only doubled and copied to the right but are synonymous "mirrored" (ie as if it reflects a Picture)?
For the nonsense I film me so far has served Magix Deluxe, works like a Tonaufteilung, right-left assignment and reflection with the program properly?

Martin

NLE = Non Linear Editing System - meaning the program is with you cut the video.
It is sufficient if you have the mono track, which is incorporated in the camcorder is recording only 1 channel, as it is copying the other channel. The listener hears the sound then in the middle. Most editing programs have a function that does exactly that.

If the recording of the interview with only one mono Microphone and done, for example, the reporter interviewed the person and both are seen simultaneously in the Picture, you can either let the sound in the middle (it's still just mono) or with the Pan controls in the NLE / Audio Editor (or in simpler NLEs means of a rubber band / rubber band) sound a little push from the middle to the respective Page "to see where the person speaking is. So if the / the speaker is left, for example, then the sound slightly to the left, etc. Care must, however, that the sound is never completely only to a page that pushes and always synonymous something comes across the box. This makes it really sounds like you have a professional of the environment in which the conversation (or what scene always synonymous ...) take place and the atmosphere synonymous one is mandatory with a stereo microphone. The atmosphere then you mix in the interview, so the whole thing does not sound lifeless, sterile.
Good sound is just work ...

Do not make it so complicated. Man has only one mouth. Therefore, a single person always speaks in mono. Hardly a journalistic TV production features the on turning in stereo. And certainly not a reporter interviews or statements. Normally, records the camera (at least) two sound channels. Only those are not usually used for a Stereoaufzeichnug, but on a track is the external Micro (manual, radio, badge or fishing micro) recorded. On the other soundtrack, the normal ambient noise, called atmosphere for atmosphere. Usually with a camera mounted on the microphone. You need of course a cutting ability, which allows you afterwards to mix the two channels and to distribute to both stereo channels (Panpot & Balance).

If you want a good directional condenser microphone, the Sennheiser MKE take dan 416th For interviews with the Sennheiser MD 46th As for Sennheiser Keychains MKE2. Of course there are alternatives in 1000. If you need a "first" Micro, then the MD 46 of the "golden Purchase" is.

They are of course purely subjective Tips.

It is well known, many roads that lead to your destination.
Come again synonymous with the end product: NiF, documentary, feature film ...
For scenic shots is more logically Aufand operated as such as news.

However, I think a MKE416 resorted to 'nen Beginners somewhat high. As well would the much acclaimed Rode NTG1 or ME66 always do his service.

I agree. This is synonymous a question of price. Rode there for a power adapter?

Note that need the most professional mics CAPACITOR Phantom power (48 V power from the mic cable). When operating s.einer consumer camera you need an external power adapter for power supply.
