Hi,
I have an old laptop that can be upgraded by means of plug-in card with Firewire.
How is something for newer notebooks that do not have such a slot?
USB adapter will probably not work. What connection then?
refers to the transfer of the HV30.

In newer work is not without Firewire.

There is only older miniDV camcorder of Panasonic (eg NV GS 230) which can transfer video via USB - it works but only for normal DV (ie SD).

With your HV30 and newer notebooks you come without Firewire therefore not far away.

yes, I thought that the data I just get out via the firewire cable ... I will probably need an adapter.

There were (are?) Of Pinnacle speakers, the analog-and FW-inputs have to be closed and USB s.den Calculator. A somewhat different and more expensive option would be as the transfer to a recorder with SD or CF card which is then read into the calculator. Advantage: You could keep the recorder on all the future recordings s.Camcorders run along the same FW-output and can then immediately, without any dubbing, the capture card in the calculator. The resulting parallel tape is archived.

PS: I just saw that you work in HDV. Since the boxes will not use the Pinnacle. I guess the process is therefore only in DV. 'm Not sure one hundred percent.

There is no video capability Firewire to USB adapter. There were times of Pinncale a "MovieBox", which was connected by USB and a Firewire Calculator s.den had s.Bord. This only works with the Pinnacle software (Studio or Liquid). Whether this was synonymous suitable for HDV Firewire / is beyond my knowledge.

Only current camera models with memory cards or hard disks are good for a PC without a firewire port.

Unfortunately, the videographer of the notebook manufacturers have been left in the lurch by the FireWire interface and accounted for the mini notebooks were still synonymous Erweitungsmöglichkeiten built without using a PC card slot (or whatever they're called).

You need a card that in the corresponding slot of your notebook (fits most of today ExpressCard) and provides Firewire connectors. Should not cost the earth.

The direct route does not, as such a notebook is not suitable for HDV editing. One solution would be to capture from the camcorder via a Firewire external hard drive on a calculator, and then to hang this drive via USB s.dein notebook. Better is to ensure, before the purchase that the laptop either a Firewire port, or at least has an ExpressCard slot.

same as I've bought a suitable WITH FW socket -> MacBook or MacBook Pro (even the smallest having a FW400, FW800 larger).

I always thought that to have this unspeakable "netbooks"
any modern laptop almost always a FW-socket ... or am I wrong?
