Although it is not the answer to your question is - my tip:
"Work" you prefer in Edius neo On - it's worth it. It works in all respects stable. Look again here in the forum. That on the "many excellent program ..." The time you now spend herumprobieren with VdL, you can do in a mature synonymous Prog invest (there are so synonymous have any other good editing software). I had at that time synonymous "purely fiddle" and find themselves still "new" things.
ps: Incidentally, there is a really good video for Edius x / neo. The first part is, I believe, synonymous with free GV.. / Canopus download.
