my notebook is faulty and would like to read the disk. The disk has an IDE port and it must seem synonymous with power.
can someone tell me what kind of adapter do I need?

From Pearl, there is a USB hard drive adapter. With this, any IDE and SATA, 2.5 and 3.5 "disk without housing, etc. to the USB port out.
