"AVI" is vague, it could be anything, because it is a container format.
DV-AVI files from the camcorder on the hard drive have been captured are of CS3 synonymous s.Mac easily imported.

Magix can not read AVI but directly from the camcorder on import premiere works, unfortunately not because bild ton and does not fit Which camcorder? How connected?

DV camcorder via firewire is actually a standard connection with it until then there should be no problems. However, I do too little with the combination of Premiere s.Mac trusted to see to say that.
Perhaps answers yes to someone else yet?

I import at the moment with iMovie and then export as a dv stream avi from iMovie will not premiere (codec error)
the quality is very badly burned as a dvd but hardly any difference with the original DV stream I think is the best quality more than I can even export mov
I can so my movies in premiere edit only leather that is not the way I look at the of (expensive) premiere was presented
