After yesterday&s introduction of the new Vintage DNA lens series for the ARRI Alexa LF, it&s time for ARRI. With the SUP 4.0 (Software Update Package), which has just been released for download, ARRI extends central functions of the Alexa LF.
These include: new De-Sequeeze factors for anamorphic images (1.65 x and 1.80 x), LBUS support (via LCS-LBUS adapter cable), EXT Sync (Sensor Sync and Settings Sync), separate Magnify values for the lower and upper range values, and a new LF function for the LF. Sensor modes, better Dynamic Defect Pixel Correction (now like Alexa Mini and Amira), cleverer Project FPS settings, etc.
The new Alexa LF De-Sequeeze factors are aimed at Panavision Ultra Vista (1.65 x) and Cooke Anamorphic/i Full Frame Plus (1.80 x) anamorphic lenses, and the LF is aimed at EVF and MON OUT 1, 2 and 3.
For the new LBUS support, an LCS to LBUS cable is required at the 5-pin LCS connector of the LF and thus enables the operation of various LBUS accessories such as Cforce Mini and Plus Lens Motors, Master Grips, Operator Control Unit OCU-1 and more.
Further information on the SUP 4.0 update for the Alexa LF can be found on the linked ARRI pages.
