Apogee has introduced the MiC Plus, a USB microphone for iPad, iPhone, Macs and PCs. The MiC Plus is a professional microphone with cardioid characteristic, a sound quality of up to 24 bit/96 kHz and an integrated microphone preamplifier with 46 dB gain. It digitizes recorded sounds and makes them available on other devices via USB/Lightning.
The three LEDs show the status, the audio level (which can be controlled by a rotary knob) and the activated blend mode. The new blend mode allows you to mix the sound from the two audio sources microphone and audio software via headphones (default is 50% each).
In addition to a microUSB interface, it also has a headphone output with a blend function for latency-free recording. Getting started is easy: connect the MiC Plus to your computer or iPhone/iPad, select it as an audio interface and start recording using the appropriate audio software.
The Apogee MiC Plus will be available from 15 November 15 for around 270 euros. Included in the package are a Lightning, USB (Type-C) and USB (Type-A) cable and a microphone tripod with adapter.
