In February 2018, Sony plans to launch its new 6K CineCamera VENICE on the market -- and, as has now been announced, with instantly available FullFrame recording. Although this is still a paid additional function, it will now be implemented much faster than originally planned in summer 2018. Thus the full sensor area of 36x24mm can be used - for an extra charge - right from the launch, and not just a Super35 window.
Venice also offers various anamorphic recording formats as an optional add-on. The full-frame sensor is supposed to be used for example. with a dynamic range of 15 f-stops, a gamut exceeding the BT2020 color space and a very fast readout. The camera's housing price is 37,000 euros. More details on the Sony Venice can be found in our September news.
