Could that happen if you do not have captured with Adobe.
Load it with virtualdub and memory again as AVI or capture it right with Premiere.

The "film" of your camcorder, do you have (I suspect) via Firewire cable (or USB cable placed) on your calculator (captured).
In Premiere, under "File-> Capture (or F5).
