although the raw r3d redcinex processing is very cool in almost as raw photos in Aperture or Lightroom.

Yes, with photos Raw is great, but even there, in some cases over kill.
Be honest, well-made Lineskipping / down convert to HD and a better codec and that would be a giant leap.
Uh and I would still like to have a manual level-adjustable mini-XLR input;)
