and has a good display

This notebook has a intel core 2duo processor with 1,66 GHz. does this mean for Intel Core 2 Duo 2x 1,66 GHz?
premiere 2.0 to run? as far as I know it can run only s.1, 8ghz.

There is independent of Core and Core 2 - Duo and Solo models. Guess what mean Duo and Solo. GHz are now quite incidentally no preference. With two cores doubles the performance of non-synonymous. Only with optimized programs. Under Windows XP Home, for example, do not.
