Infoseite // Maximum cable length for HD-Component

Frage von Markus_Krippner:

Servus :-)

Has anyone of you experience, how long a HD component cable (HD-YUV) may be up to?

The fact that it is on the cable geometry and cable quality matters to me is already clear. I would like to just know your experience. What cable has at length what still works .... and which has length at which no longer works.

Or knows someone ne website on this subject?

Thanks ....

Hi Markus,

... this comes on the cable quality s.and course, if you have digital or analog component component transmit.
For HDMI, it is because of the very limited bandwidth.
When SDI is approximately 300 m, in the analogue component is one of approx. 100 m, where then the skew-Effect, ie the various maturities between colors, but synonymous between luma and chroma already policy.
The are based on two facts: different transmission frequencies and the cable synonymous qualities.
SKEW effect is called the phenomenon that is mainly for large distances and high resolutions (high frequencies) means that the colors, ZBS move, because they arrive at different times.
Even the "Twistung" of the cable leads to this effect, because the cable lengths on large distances but may differ materially.
Devices as a remedy, the SKEW correction.
Only here we are talking about distances of more than 100m and high-quality HD signals.
Yes I know now not s.welche lengths because you've thought of.
If the disturbing effect, so you need to compensate.
Even cable with "solid", not Twisted soul help to reduce the effect.
Cable quality is not so easy to verbally recommend, because they are of one batch to another can be.
And now I go once not assume that you have about 1.50 - 2m cable nachdenklich?!

Hi Wolfgang :-)

Thank you for your detailed reply.

I'm actually in my case in order to maximize long cable (50-150m) and analog HD signals.

My real question is: What is next: HD-SDI or HD-YUV. For HD-SDI whir 65m with RG59 me in the head around. For analog HD YUV missing me every size.

Markus,
with the 65-70m you lying at 1.5 Gbit / s correct.
Similarly, you can while synonymous hinbekommen these lengths, but did you but against the whole sensitive to electromagnetical disturbance to fight.
I do not know whether you sound synonymous (and / or Time Code) mitschleifen need ... that would be synonymous with SDI obviously no problem.
Also can be observed in SDI signal regeneration (repeater) show faster than with an analog signal.
My recommendation therefore no analogy.
If the high cost of cable disturb, should you want to figure out if you do not have a DVI cable is CAT6.
But that's just always on the application and the framework conditions.

Hi Wolfgang :-)

Thank you for your answer. This brings me much schonmal next.

I do not need sound. Really only Picture.

The number with DVI and Cat6 cables I've ever considered synonymous, but that would then halt ne orgy. My device is HD-YUV or HD-SDI out - but no DVI.

Nuja ... but the cable would be cheap. Do As experience - for DVI via Cat6 over Cat6 cable? What could we do to bridge lengths? Resolutionwäre 1920x1080.
