Certainly not a new issue, I have already but the A. .. in the net for an answer abgesucht.

So I use Premiere Pro 2.0 and want to edit HDV recordings. How much weight is annoying is that one (it is in any case for me), unfortunately not with the scene ID for the recording work. The HDV is simply not available. In 4:3 mode there is no problem. Is this normal and if so, does that in the CS3 version of Premiere without any problems?
Furthermore, I have constantly problems with the FireWire connection to my Canon XH A1 camcorder. The controller uses s.and s.aus. Especially happy when the camera stops in between. Does FireWire a certain order or so, as the devices must be turned on or (as it was for SCSI). I have now changed and the controle funzt it straight again. Let's see how long this goes well.

Premiere offers LongGOP material (MPEG) in principle no scene separation. When you absolutely need: Freeware Tool HDVSplit (Google) use.
For firewire problem, I can say nothing. If I did not give up.

Thank you for your quick reply. Is quite practical, though I like the various scenes get auto loaded. I think this is very time-saving.

That with the FireWire is really annoying. Since then an "off-line recorder," or "reset" sometimes starts the tape just does not work. Volume so annoying stuff.
