I have been working for years with Premiere, but is it a problem for some time, which I can understand not: I've cut a movie (; duration 38 minutes) in DV and a 28-minute film in HDV. In both cases I have worked relatively much synonymous with filters.
Premiere Pro comes to a total of just fine. I work s.einem Quadcore with 4GB Ram and Geforce 8500 GT with 1GB).
So now to the problem:
If I open one of my larger projects and then a clip on the timeline, click it crashes premiere (;... be completed because of serious errors are ...).
If I move the mouse instead of mark multiple clips and click a few times in the timeline and click it ONLY a single clip, then it does not crash.
Does anyone of you this phenomenon? Is there a solution?

No, no major system changes.
There is this problem only synonymous with major projects.
If I have a small project with a few clips and create filter without much everything is ok, no crashes ...
Perhaps memory problems, but I'm still equipped with 4GB not too bad.
Sometimes developers synonymous, that my PC is running after starting just three minutes and then freezes. This happens when I have not used it for longer than one day, as if he was only "warm" needs to be.
Perhaps that is synonymous but a hardware problem. On the other hand is this program only crashes with Premiere. Other storage-Programs such as Vue Infinite crash not ....

you said getting warm expansion of = -> contact, cool shrink = -> no contact contact or wobbly.
furthermore, perform memory test.
