Frage von geid0r:

Hello Together!

I have the following problem, maybe you can help me?

If I were with my camera (PD-170) Recordings made, mostly with a normal small-diaphragm microphone with cardioid polar pattern, it all works wonderfully. Even if I use the microphones 1-2 meters of a speaking person, I get away with a clear, clean and especially außreichend loud sound.

The spokesman, however, shots I use a Firewire interface (8xXLR, Motu Pre8) and a large-diaphragm microphone. In a direct opponent in the Microphone synonymous here I get very good sound quality.

Now to my problem:

I make the following test set-up, a person speaks a text and the whole is of a micro phone at 1 meter distance recorded. Once I take the entire camera with the tape on at once and directly with the interface into the computer.

Now fit the Kameraton, but the sound I get through the interface is much too quiet! I can still gain as much spin, it is not enough reinforcement s.die camera approached. Although the interface to the camera quality is superior.

How can that be and what could I do?

Maybe you have an idea yes, I would be glad.

The microphones are different, you'll get different results be synonymous. The first,.

Second: If the PD170 is running on automatic, then bolted to the 0dB level to high, ie maximum volume. A headroom as it is otherwise in manual levels have to be there in automatic mode.

I know now how your professional mixer means and how it is set. These are just guesses:

s.Dein mixer headroom and has a maximum pegelt-9dB. If the maximum level of Tonschnittprogram with-9dB is reached (in which test you're a little bit louder, but not too loud on the membrane scream!), Then it is and it is normal. Possibly. makes the program synonymous with the sound you aufnimmst this headroom.

b) Your mixer has a weakening s.Input mandrel. Or s.Output.

More spontaneous, I do not.

As a workaround, I would recommend you in 24 bit aufzuzeichen. That you can then pull apart the post and then it should not be of the quality in comparison to a 16 bit recording.

Hello!

Thank you for your reply.

I take the same beidesmal with Microphone on. They just do I change the recording media (Camera or PC).

Using a mixer, I garnicht, but directly with the Microphone into the Firewire interface. The preamps have a nice sound, therefore, I would not at first go through a mixer.

Or should I have to but separate microphone and were initiated only after the interface grind? In any case, I can turn and do what I want and it is simply not loud.

I think you should be editing multiple tracks on each set so that it will be louder? Or what was meant?

Perhaps this is the gain of the AD converter is simply not large enough or not enough supplies phantom power for the Micro. In any case, it is exactly your problem with the Motu Pre8 here in the forum ever been - probably me finally - been discussed.

Maybe you have to actually use an additional preamplifiers.
